Dr. Hachinsky was born in Kansas City, Missouri and grew up in Independence, Missouri. He graduated from the University of Missouri - Columbia with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at the University of Health Sciences - College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1995. Upon graduating medical school, he entered the United States Navy, where he served over 9 years on active duty, achieving the rank of lieutenant commander. He completed his internship at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. He then served two years onboard the USS Inchon as the medical officer. He completed his residency at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in Portsmouth, Virginia on September 10, 2001, and then transferred into Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune on September 11, 2001, where he served 3 years treating Marines and Sailors as a staff psychiatrist and department head for the mental health department. After leaving the Navy in 2004, he returned home to Kansas City, where he joined Psychiatry Associates of Kansas City.

In addition to seeing outpatients at Psychiatry Associates of Kansas City, Dr. Hachinsky is currently the medical director of the SAGE Behavioral Health Unit at Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville, Missouri, where he treats geriatric patients requiring inpatient psychiatric treatment. He is board certified in General Psychiatry. He sees patients 18 and older and offers a wide variety of treatment modalities including medication management, transcranial magnetic stimulation, and Spravato for patients with treatment resistant depression. He sees patients for a wide variety of mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, and ADHD.

In his spare time, Dr. Hachinsky enjoys spending time with his sons, outdoor activities, camping, gardening, traveling, and various artistic activities where he can express his creativity. He is an avid military historian and enjoys building and painting military and science fiction models. And, of course, he loves our very own Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals.

Dr. Hachinsky enjoys serving his patients and oftentimes brings a sense of humor to his treatment sessions. He looks forward to serving your mental health needs.
