Dr. Cole was raised in rural Kansas and earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He graduated with departmental honors in psychology from the University of Kansas. Dr. Cole served six years in the Medical Corps of the U.S. Army and received the Army Commendation Medal at the end of his service.

He has worked for decades through the American Psychiatric Association, on the local level as well as the national level, to help advance the treatment of anxiety and depression and other disorders.

In 2016 he was one of four individuals to receive the Community Service Award at an event at Research Medical Center. The other leaders honored included the Kansas City Chief of Parks and Recreation, the Dean of the Rockhurst University/Research College of Nursing, and the lead pastor of one of the area’s largest churches.

In recent years, Dr. Cole has become particularly interested in TMS, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. As an active member in the Clinical TMS Society, he is knowledgeable with the current advances in TMS devices, such as recent refinements in the stimulation head. He is enthusiastic about pending developments, such as the expansion of TMS to other disorders such as Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. But he is equally enthusiastic about current TMS, which provides the means for patient to continue their jobs or other activities, while they are experiencing significant relief from depression.

Dr Cole treats patients for ADD/ADHD, OCD, anxiety, and major depressive disorder. His services include medication management, and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation.
